Temperatures are expected to reach 100 degrees today and over the next week and residents are advised to take precautions. Extreme heat can affect your health and necessary steps should be taken to prevent serious health effects such as heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
The Piqua City Health Department has placed on the city website at www.piquaoh.org a listing of precautions to avoid health issues along with the signs and symptons of heat exhaustion and heat stroke and what you should do with individuals experiencing these conditions.
The Piqua YMCA has volunteered their lobby space as a Cooling Center for those that do not have access to air conditioning. We apreciate the YMCA making their facility available to the community.
